Just here to post the purikura i took with Mitchell last friday XD
We in our super socks XD heh and we did the Nyappy pose too! XD
Oh and since i just listened to the debut single from ERIKA (aka famous Erika Sawajiri from 1litre of tears), i shall comment ^_^
The 1st song FREE, is also the title track & its definitely the best song on this single. most importantly, Erika improved ALOT on her vocals. i still remember how i cringed when i heard Taiyou no Uta, because i thought she sounded so seriously horrible. too horrible to match her pretty face in fact -_-" but in FREE, she proves that shes can sing & actually has decent range. and i'll say i'm seeing her in a new light now. before i heard FREE, i would say Erika CANT sing & should NEVER sing. but now i think she has what it takes to pursue a singing career. well not that shes really that kickass awesome a singer now, but whoever said mediocre singers cant survive? the Jpop scene has many mediocre singers & i see alot of them doing better than they deserve, thanks to good looks & catchy songs. so i predict Erika will do pretty good too, since shes definitely pretty, has a catchy debut single & already has a huge fanbase from the dramas she starred in. of course, if she continues improving on her vocals along the way & eventually get pass the mediocre-sounding part, she'll be great. i'm human too, no matter how picky i can be, so the catchiness of FREE appeals to me XD
Track 2 is Fantasy. my 1st impression of the song is simple: "WTF?" -_- you cant blame me for this when it sounds like the people in the mixing studio had way too much fun playing with the effects. i'm fine with distorted vocals if the song can still manage to sound good (as with MAI's case). but when it sounds bad like Fantasy does, then its not worth my hard disk space.
Track 3 is Time to go home & its a pretty decent song. well i do know its a pretty good song actually, but something about that song just bores me. maybe all those jrock music did spoil my ears afterall, because now i'm more than twice as picky about the music i hear :P and rockish pop songs no longer appeal to me much, except when its by people like Makkun, Rina etc. i'll confess i can take extremely mediocre Jrock stuff, but not slightly mediocre Jpop stuff. talk about being biased -_-"
anyways, i think FREE is a pretty good debut single from Erika. it'll be pretty good if this will be the musical direction she'll be moving towards in future, since it apparently suits her ALOT more than Taiyou no Uta (the acoustic approach -_-"). oh and i have to mention she looks really pretty & quite hot in FREE's PV ^_^ people still dying over Aya in 1litre of tears, go watch this PV XD
